Linda Browne's interest in artistic pursuits has taken her in many directions. In graphic arts, she has worked in pen and ink, graphite and clolored pencil, watercolors, and currently, acrylics. For a number of years, Linda and her husband operated a gallery in Brooklin promoting the work of local artists. Linda draws inspiration from many life experiences including summers in Algonquin Park, weekends wandering through Durham's beautiful countryside and forests, trips to Canada's east and west coasts, and life on a hobby farm. Her visual sensitivity to these subjects has kindled her desire to reproduce their natural beauty and charm and, ultimately, to share this appreciation with others.
Linda is a member of the Scugog Council of the Arts and the Pine Ridge Arts Council and has studied under a variety of artists, most recently Andrew Hamilton, Professor of Fine Art. Her work has been shown at the McKay House in Unionville, the Kent Farndale Gallery in Port Perry and the Silverstone Gallery in Pickering, Ontario, and at the juried art shows at the McLaughlin Art Gallery in Oshawa and Port Perry's Boardwalk Art Fair. She is currently exhibiting her work at the Piano Cafe in Port Perry, Ontario.
